Make
What will God Make out of the Mess we Made?
I take part in a weekly writing exercise where I am given a one-word prompt. I have 5 minutes to write with no editing. This week's word: Make.
There is a tendency to look back on our lives and see more mistakes than miracles. The awkward comment: Why did I say that? Why did I do that? Why did I not tell them I saw the beautiful thing they did? There is no way God will forgive that.
Our actions, always second guessed, always full of insecurity or selfishness, bounding our way and cluttering the path God set before us. I thought He stood on the other side of the mess, outstretched arms, guiding us to walk through the muck to reach Him, but no. He is beside us, guiding us through. Like Peter on the sea, we keep our eyes on Him, work on ourselves by being right with Him, so that we may pour out onto others what He has made for us.
What will God make of our mess? I imagine it will look different for each of us except for one similarity; His glory.
Making mistakes was part of my response too. Thank you for reminding me that He is creative with the mistakes and mess that we often make.
